Ping Qian is a professor and doctoral supervisor of Huazhong Agricultural University, vice president of Chinese Veterinary Medical Association, and veterinary director (concurrently) of Guangxi Yangxiang Co., Ltd. D. He graduated from Anhui Fushan Middle School in 1993, received his B.S. degree in Agriculture from Huazhong Agricultural University in 1998, and his Ph.D. degree in Agriculture from Huazhong Agricultural University in 2003, and postdoctoral research at Huazhong Agricultural University (2003-2005) and Queen’s University Belfast (2005-2008). In 2010, he was appointed as a professor of Huazhong Agricultural University, and in 2020, he was selected as one of the leading talents in science and technology innovation under the National ‘Ten Thousand Talents Plan’. His main research interests include animal pathogen infection and immunity, novel vaccines and diagnostic reagents, as well as integrated prevention and control of swine diseases. He has published more than 80 papers in PNAS, Autophagy, J Immunol, J Virol and other journals. He has presided over more than 10 research projects, including the National Key Research and Development Programme. He has obtained one national new veterinary drug certificate, three provincial and ministerial first prizes, and more than 20 authorised national invention patents.
