Ping Li holds a PhD in Animal Nutrition and Feed Science from China Agricultural University and completed a postdoctoral fellowship in Veterinary Medicine. He is an associate researcher at the Animal Science Research Institute of the Guangdong Academy of Agricultural Sciences and serves as a master's supervisor. His research focuses on the evaluation of nutritional value in feed ingredients, precision nutrition, and the effectiveness of feed and additives. He has led or been a key participant in over 20 national key research and development projects, National Natural Science Foundation projects, as well as projects funded by the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs and the Guangdong Provincial Natural Science Foundation. Li has authored, co-authored, or translated over 20 books and published more than 30 papers in SCI-indexed journals and Chinese core journals. He serves as a reviewer for the top-tier SCI journals JASB (Top 1st Quartile) and JAS (Top 2nd Quartile). He received the 2015 Chinese Association of Animal Science and Veterinary Medicine Award and is the lead drafter of the updated national standards for "Nutritional Requirements of Pigs" and the agricultural standard "Nutritional Requirements of Yellow Chickens," as well as three other feed ingredient agricultural standards. One of his representative works is the first domestic paper published in JAS (then the best SCI top journal in the field) on the prediction equation for effective energy of pig feed ingredients. He is also the chief editor of the book “A Compilation of Historical Data on Domestic and International Feed Ingredients and Nutritional Values” and the chief translator of “Suckling and Weaning Piglets”.
