Li Feng is the Chief Scientist of the Innovative Team for Swine Gastrointestinal Infectious Diseases at the Harbin Veterinary Research Institute, Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences. He is a second-level researcher, doctoral supervisor, recipient of the State Council’s Special Government Allowance, and a distinguished talent in agricultural research nationwide. Feng has long been dedicated to the research and development of products, technologies, and fundamental theories for the prevention and control of swine viral diarrhea. He has led over 20 major projects, including key research topics under China’s "13th Five-Year" and "14th Five-Year" National Key R&D Programs, as well as projects funded by the National Natural Science Foundation of China and the Heilongjiang Natural Science Foundation. He was the primary contributor to a project that won the National Technology Invention Award (Second Prize) in 2018 and the third contributor to a project that won the National Science and Technology Progress Award (Second Prize) in 2004. He has also received eight other provincial and ministerial-level first prizes. The project that won the National Invention Award was recognized as one of the "Top 10 Landmark Agricultural Science and Technology Achievements" of the 13th Five-Year Plan. Feng has obtained two Class 1 new veterinary drug certificates and two Class II new veterinary drug certificates in China. He has also contributed to the formulation or revision of two agricultural industry standards and received two China Patent Excellence Awards. He has published over 200 research papers in journals such as “Plos Pathogens”, “mBio”, and “Journal of Virology”, and has authored or co-authored 5 books and contributed to 12 other publications.
