Dr. Mark Wilson is still active in Feedworks USA 2020 – 2024 research and technical training in swine. From 2007 – 2019, Mark was a research nutritionist/reproductive Physiologist for Global Technical service for Zinpro Corporation. He served as a leader for the development and understanding of how inflammation impacts production efficiency and immune responses of farm animals and pets. He conducts in-depth research on the impact of heat stress, inflammation, lameness, colostrum, lactation performance, and osteochondrosis. He has been invited to speak in over 40 countries for International and National presentations.
Dr. Wilson was Adjunct Professor for University of Wisconsin from 2003-2019 and for University of Minnesota 2009 – 2019. Mark was vice president of technical transfer for Minitube of America from 2000 – 2006. He instilled rapid growth and adoption of artificial insemination for boars, stallions, turkeys with an emphasis on boar studs and sow farms. He has done a large number of walk throughs for farms to help with reproductive performance in swine. Mark joined United Feeds as Director, Technical Services from 1992-2000. He served as a member of the Board of Directors during the entirety of tenure. He visited an average of 70 farms per year and was responsible for walkthroughs and providing in-depth analysis of improvements for each farm after each visit. His career begins teaching at the University of Minnesota, Waseca & Southern Experiment Station from 1980-1992 a full Professor, 1986. Mark led the curriculum for the honors program at UMW for 5 years. He believed strongly in research projects for undergraduates as many of them went on to higher degrees and a few of the students won prestigious awards from animal science. He is a member of the American Society of Animal Science 1979-2024, American Association of Swine Veterinarians 1994-2024, Austral-Asian Pig Science Association 1995-2020, American Embryo Transfer Association 2003-2009, Technical Advisory Board Danbred North America 2005-2009, Advisory Board- American Protein Corporation 2002-2004, and Cooperative Research Centers (CRC) funded by Australian Federal Government 2006-2010.
