詹姆斯·考林斯博士

Dr. Collins is a Professor at the University of Minnesota College of Veterinary Medicine and Director of the Veterinary Diagnostic Laboratory. He is a Board Certified Veterinary Pathologist with 30 years of experience in veterinary medical diagnostic investigation, veterinary disease nomenclature & disease classification. He graduated from the University of Minnesota, College of Veterinary Medicine in 1978 and received his Ph.D. in Veterinary Pathology from Michigan State University in 1986. He is a member of the American College of Veterinary Pathologists (ACVP), United States Animal Health Association (USAHA) and American Association of Veterinary Laboratory Diagnosticians (AAVLD), associations that are important for collaboration between government officials and academia. He has held faculty positions at South Dakota State University and the University of Minnesota. In addition, Dr. Collins has experience integrating production data (PigChamp) with state diagnostic laboratory informatics systems to advance National Pork Producers Association (NPPA) swine health programs. Other accomplishments include: rapid detection and publication of emerging diseases such as PRRS virus; development of methods to ensure swine producer data confidentiality and development of processes to ensure economic sustainability of university laboratory systems.
