Dr. Andrea Hanson is the System Nutritionist for Professional Swine Management. Dr. Hanson is responsible for formulating diets for over 140,000 sows and 175,000 wean to finish spaces managed by the Carthage System. Her responsibilities also include overseeing the feed quality assurance program, maintaining relationships with 10 toll mills, reviewing toll mill biosecurity, reviewing and summarizing scientific literature, developing training material, conducting farm visits, and training. Prior to joining the Carthage System, Dr. Hanson oversaw production research on 10,000 wean-to-finish spaces in Southern Minnesota. She earned an M.S. in Agriculture at Illinois State University (2010) and Ph.D. in Swine Nutrition at the University of Minnesota (2014).
