Chao-Nan trained in veterinary medicine at the National Chiayi University and then completed his PhD studies in 2009 at the Department of Veterinary Medicine, National Taiwan University. PhD research was focus on the feline infectious peritonitis, especially at sequences analysis and searching for anti-coronavirus agents. His postdoctoral research was conducted in the Program of Emerging Infectious Diseases, Duke-NUS Medical School, Singapore. Now, he is a professor (since Aug 2017) and chairman (since Aug 2022) in Department of Veterinary Medicine at the National Pingtung University of Science and Technology, Taiwan. His laboratory aims to address the critical gaps in animal infectious diseases, especially in companion animals and swine. He has experienced in pig production medicine, sow reproductive failure and diseases diagnosis.
