Fangzhou Chen graduated from Huazhong Agricultural University with a Ph.D. in Preventive Veterinary Medicine. During his doctoral studies, he spent one year in a joint training program at the University of Minnesota, USA. He is a recipient of scholarships from the China Scholarship Council and the National Natural Science Foundation. Chen was a postdoctoral researcher at Huazhong Agricultural University and is currently the Production Technology Director of the Pig Farming Division at Guangdong Hengxing Group. He has co-authored over 20 SCI papers and specializes in the identification of new pathogens and the prevention and control of emerging major infectious diseases, particularly in the comprehensive management of African swine fever, viral diarrhea, and porcine reproductive and respiratory syndrome (PRRS/blue-ear disease). He is mainly responsible for overall production management in the company, promoting the systematic construction of biosecurity, optimizing farming costs, and advancing the company's seed industry development through efforts in production, health, nutrition, and breeding. Chen has been recognized as a four-star contributor at the Leman China Swine Conference and serves as an editorial board member of “Pig Science”, a volunteer editor for the "Anti-ASF Talks" public welfare platform, and one of the "Top 100 Doctors in Pig Farming" honored during China's 40 years of reform and opening-up. He is also a Youth Committee member of the Guangdong Pig Farming Association.
