Marcelo Almeida received his DVM degree from the University of Brasilia in 2003, a Masters Degree in Preventive Veterinary Medicine by the Federal University of State of Rio Grande do Sul in 2006, and a Ph.D. in Population Sciences in Animal Health from the Iowa State University in 2020. Marcelo has been working with the swine industry for the last 20 years with roles in a vertically integrated pork producer, genetic supplier, and pharmaceutical company. Marcelo is currently an assistant professor and food animal diagnostician at the ISU-VDL.”
