Xiangdong Ding
Xiangdong Ding, with a Ph.D. degree, is an associate professor and doctoral supervisor of China Agricultural University. He has conducted cooperative research and visiting studies in University of Göttingen in Germany, Aarhus University in Denmark, and University of California, Berkeley in USA. His research interests include statistical genetics and animal molecular design and breeding. As the first author and corresponding author, he has published more than 40 SCI papers in international academic journals such as Nature Ecology & Evolution, FASEB, Genetics, Genetics Selection Evolution, and applied for eight invention patents (three authorized patents). He has also won 25 software Copyrights, one second prize of National Science and Technology Progress Award and four provincial and ministerial awards. He has presided over the national key research and development Program, National Natural Science Foundation of China, Modern Agricultural Industrial Technology System, and other scientific research projects. In 2009, he was selected as the New Star of Science and Technology in Beijing. Currently, he is the expert of the National Swine Industry Technology System, a member of the expert group and the secretary of the National Pig Genetic Evaluation Center, the committee member and deputy secretary of Chinese Association of Animal Science and Veterinary Medicine - Branch of Swine Science, and the committee member of Branch of Information Technology. He is also a member of the Editorial Board of Animal Bioscience, Frontier in Genetics, and Frontier in Veterinary Science.
