Neal is an associate veterinarian at Carthage Veterinary Services in Carthage, IL and is responsible for the health of 7 managed sow farms within the Carthage System as well as servicing outside clients and some finishing within the Carthage System. Neal received a bachelor's degree in Animal Science from the University of Illinois in 2011 and a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree also from Illinois in 2016. Prior to graduation Neal spent a year studying agriculture at the Pontifical Catholic University of Argentina and a one year fellowship working on bovine rotavirus at the University of Leipzig in Germany as well as a summer internship working on Pompe’s disease in a mouse model at the University of Nantes in France. Neal is a member of the American Association of Swine Veterinarians where he serves of the student recruitment committee as well as the AVMA. His professional interests include disease elimination programs in sow farms, gilt development and acclimatization and enhancing biosecurity.
