Professor Qiu is the head of the Division of Swine Infectious Diseases and chief scientist of for Innovation Team for High-Consequence Swine Viral Diseases, Harbin Veterinary Research Institute, CAAS. His interests are focused on the basic and applied research in classical/African swine fever and pseudorabies. He has been awarded two national and three provincial prizes for progress in science and technology. He has published 140 peer-reviewed papers, including 77 papers in SCI-indexed journals. He serves as an editor of World Journal of Virology, Chinese Journal of Biotechnology and Acta Microbiologia Sinica, and peer reviewer of Journal of Virology, Gene Therapy, Vaccine, Veterinary Research, Veterinary Microbiology, Virus Research, etc.
